Research and Development (R&D) division
RESEARCH AND INNOVATION
At Herbospices, our Research and Development (R&D) division consists of a team of scientists and technicians who are dedicated to pursuing global innovations. Our focus on innovation is aimed at providing end users with functional product benefits while maintaining sustainability. We employ advanced extraction methods to obtain the purest ingredients possible. Additionally, we collaborate with agricultural research centers to enhance our understanding of raw material quality.
We have made significant investments in R&D to develop value-added products that align with customer needs. Our research and development activities primarily focus on Natural Colors, Culinary Platforms, Technology Platforms, Functional Ingredients, and Cosmeceuticals. These endeavors are supported by highly qualified application teams.
We have established technical know-how, research centers, and business incubations with government departments such as DMAPR-ICAR-Gujarat, and Periyakulam Horticulture.
To source our organic products, we have formed partnerships with Farmers Producer Organizations (FPO) from various regions in India.
Our areas of focus include:
- Natural product extraction: Essential oils, Oleoresins, Fragrances, and Nutraceuticals. - Industrial uses: Including drying, textile dyeing, and parts cleaning. - Polymer applications. - Teaching laboratories. - Analytical research.
Supercritical Fluid Extraction (SCFE) is considered a promising alternative technique to conventional solvent extraction methods due to its distinct properties. Among the gasses and liquids studied, CO2 remains the most commonly used supercritical fluid for SCFE.
These extraction methods are economical, offer easier quality control, and require less storage space. They result in products with a longer shelf life, free from bacterial contamination, and serve as a convenient substitute for ground spices.

To maintain quality control, we have a well-established and well-equipped quality control unit on our premises, managed by our onsite quality inspectors. We not only monitor the entire production process but also conduct product checks based on various parameters to ensure their flawless nature and value.
Due to our commitment to quality, we have gained immense appreciation from clients worldwide. As part of our business model, we follow the concept of 80-20, where 20% of our earnings are shared with those who supply and support us in obtaining high-quality raw materials.
